Childrens Crafts Tin Foil Turtles Tin Foil Turtles Recommended Ages

Today we're making tin foil turtles. Although they look a little complicated, they're actually fun and easy to do. I recommend these for ages seven and up. We really need to follow this process step by step in order to get it done right. And to make sure that it stays together. We're going to take some newspaper, wrap it with tin foil. Pretty much everything that we use for this project, you probably have in your home. Somethings you may want to pick up are the googly eyes, maybe some paint and the pipe cleaners that we use for.

The interior of the structure. If younger children are doing this they should know that we have a couple of choking hazards which are the eyes. And also, sometimes the pipe cleaners can be a little tricky for younger children's use. This is a great family project. You can make these any size. They could be smaller, larger. And really get fun and creative with them. There's a lot to do. A lot to change. And a lot of different options for embellishing them later on in the process. You can also, we can display them in a lot of different.

Now that our body and our head are in place and taped down really well, we're ready to attach the pipe cleaner antennas. I like to use pipe cleaners, but if you don't have them in the house, you can also use foil. I'm going to show you how we do this. We could use either like the shiny, glittery one, or we can use a plain pipe cleaner. And what we're going to do is we're going to cut an incision in the top of the head by just pinching and giving.

It just a little bit of an opening so that we can feed it through. And then what we're going to do is we're just going to go inside the loop and press through that opening and pull through, and then do it the same way on the other side. Then what we can do is we can curve these antennas around and give them more of an antenna kind of feel. If you're doing this with foil, you can do that too. Take a strip of foil and wrap it up. You want.

MM 2014 Stanley 20 Sport

The new 20 Sport is a tough welded aluminum centre console from Stanley boats. With a Mercury 150 four stroke it's 48 mile per hour top speed is no surprise. It's also got a curving shear line, glassy black paint and white accents. Even the practical T top looks good. The bow area provides bow rider style seating, with removable cushions. Forward there's an anchor and road locker, plus more storage in locking compartments underneath the seats. Decks are checker plate aluminum and wide walkways make it easy to move around.

The forward jump seat is well padded with more storage below. As with any centre console there can't be too many handholds, they are everywhere. Leaning post style helm seating makes sense for big water boating. A stainless steel wheel and minimalist helm are other off shore style features. Drink holders are within easy reach. Lockers across the stern bulkhead open for more storage and if any water comes on board it leaves quickly through large deck plates. The port side walkway stands right aft to the swim platform where the outboard.

How Do Hover Shoes Work Design Squad

Whoa! I'm Luka, this is Paul, and this is Nate Ball. We're going to watch some tutorials. kids screaming and giggling on tutorial I wanted to show this one to you and see what you guys thought. LUKA In this tutorial, a guy was trying to make hover shoes. NATE So what he's showing is that by adding a 9volt battery to some magnets, they begin repelling metal. But I don't think it's real. I don't think it's real. I don't think it's real. I don't think it's real. So do you guys want to try this out.

Saw whirring Today we're working at Artisan's Asylum. It's a place where people share to make stuff. NATE So I'm going to have you help me wire these batteries directly to the magnets. PAUL We've attached the magnets, then we've attached wires to the magnets. LUKA And the wires and the magnets are connected to the batteries. I think this is how the tutorial showed it. You're supposed to be able to hover. Who's ready to try it Let's just grab a big piece of metal and stick it down on the floor.

But it's not going to work. NATE Are you sure LUKA Yes. Let's set it up and try it out. We've gone this far we can't not try it just because we don't think it's going to work. It's not going to work. NATE Oh, man, okay, well, maybe that's not actually how that. I don't think it's real. NATE In the tutorial we watched, the guy must have been hanging to make it look like the shoes were hovering. All right, so we just made a set of hover shoes,.

Based on what that tutorial told us to do. And obviously, that's not how it all works. Magnets grab pieces of metal. They don't just repel things that are metal. So now we're going to make a real set of hover shoes still using permanent magnets, but in a way that they'll actually repel each other. Magnets always have two what are called poles. There's a north pole and a south pole. If we stuck two magnets together, the way they're lined up is like this, where the south pole is grabbing on to the north pole.

Now, to make them push each other apart, we would flip that other magnet over so that this was the north and then south was on top. Now, that force is going to push them apart. So what are we going to do We're going to use really strong permanent magnets and set them into blocks of wood. We're going to have them all aligned in the same direction and then we're going to make a base that has magnets that are opposing that direction so that force that you can feel.

Is going to hopefully be enough to hold us off the ground. You feel it opposing there PAUL I feel it. It feels like there's a lot, a lot, a lot of force. Why don't I just try to hold it in place. Does that feel a little more hoverish Yeah. There's definitely enough opposing force on those magnets to hold up at least half of Luka's body weight, if not more. I think what I learned is that making hover shoes is a little more complicated than it might seem.

How to Make Baked Salmon Dessert How to Make a Bread Basket

This may be date night at home, but there's no reason you can't bring another little piece of the restaurant home as well. You can see I'm cutting a French baguette here, because I'm just going to make a bread basket, because I don't know about you but I don't make myself a little bread basket every time I go sit down to have a meal. I'm just slicing it on the diagonal with a bread knife, or a serrated knife. And I've taken my linens that I'm going to be using for this evening are creamcolored, so I decided to linethe same one as my napkins,.

Just keep that, line the basket just like that. Just casually put it in like that. And now, another option too, you can do, is if you want to really carefully lay your bread out, you can alsoa lot of these ritzy restaurants will put in flatbread as well. Just pick out a few pieces of flatbread and arrange it nicely. So casually arranged, so that it looks like no thought went into it at all and yet, each piece is gingerly placed into the basket, and there you go. So, and I'm going to serve thatItalian restaurants, I find, rather.

Childrens Crafts Paper Butterfly Sun Catchers Butterfly Sun Catchers Embellishment

At this point, your butterfly could be done and it would look great hanging in the window. But I like to add a little bit more creativity, a little bit more flashy, glitter, sequence, whatever you have around the house. So look around. Even tin foil can work for this part of the project. If you want to add some glitter, you want to do some loose glitter, we can add that by putting on some glue. And, at this point, I don't really feel like the butterfly needs to be completely symmetrical. We can just have fun with it. And we can just sprinkle.

Some glitter on. This is only going to add to the reflection and the light coming through. The other thing we can do is add tempura glitter paint. When we apply this, we want to make sure that we are not putting too much on the paper. Little bit too much is going to make the paper warp. And it's going to weigh it down causing a little bit more of a drying time with this. You can see the difference on each side. So we'll keep going. We are going to add, maybe along this side, some sequence. We'll put a glitter background on.

There. And we're going to dust off the glitter when we are done. So if it gets anywhere else on your butterfly, it really doesn't matter. And we got some sequence here. Putting a dot. If you do one sequence at a time, you don't have to worry about it weighing it down. Just be careful if you're putting a handful down on a bunch of glue. Just like that. If you wanted to add the foil, you could do that with a little bit of glue. Smaller amounts along the sides.

Childrens Crafts Pipe Cleaner Fish Pipe Cleaner Fish Techniques for Tail

So we've finished our wrapping the pipe cleaners around the body to give it a semi solid looking body. We don't want it to be too solid this is a pipe cleaner structure and we want to recognize it for what it is. But now I'm going to work on the tail. So some different things that we can do with the tail, I showed you the combined and also the separated tail we're just going to make sure that these are shaped out the way that we want them, you know, bend.

Them out a little bit more and then we're going to add some pipe cleaners a color that we haven't used. And we're just going to zigzag. We're going to zigzag these around just to create some color but not anyway as dramatic as the body. Just going to bring them through just to give them a little bit of color and a little bit of shape. Changing the dynamic a little bit and bring them back down, you can do the same thing to the other side of the tail fin wrapping that around. We can also take some tissue paper at this point.

Childrens Crafts Newspaper Snakes Newspaper Snakes Painting

So now that we have got our snake shaped up we know exactly what we want him to look like and now is the time to choose his appearance. When we paint the snake we are going to be using the acrylics and we want to coat his entire body with acrylic paint. So you could start with a base paint and these acrylics should be shaken up before we paint and you could start with a base paint, a base color and you really want to coat him well. What.

Happens sometimes with newspaper and don't be afraid to get messy at this point and that is why we have got the plastic table cloth. What happens with newspaper is that this paint will sometimes show through if it doesn't have enough pigment so we need to do a second coat or do a little more detail. Also the important part is that this paint is going to dry and it is going to create a hard surface so we want to make sure that the entire snake is covered with this paint along with the tape. We are going right over the top of the.
